What Actually Happened Yesterday?

Around 10:00 a.m. yesterday, many customers started experiencing problems making phone calls, according to reports on X and Threads.

Service tracker Downdetector also showed a sharp rise in outage reports at that time. By 7 p.m. ET, the situation improved for some, with many users saying they could make calls again, and the network remained stable overnight.

It has not yet identified the exact cause of the outage, but their engineers are working to fix the problem.

Affected customers reported issues with both incoming and outgoing calls. Some phones went into SOS mode, which happens when a phone disconnects from the network due to poor coverage or network issues on Verizon’s side.
